YOU BELIEVE GOD CREATED EVERYTHING
OR
NOTHING CREATED EVERYTHING
TO BELIEVE NOTHING CREATED EVERYTHING
IS
TO BELIEVE IN MORE OF A MIRACLE
THAN
GOD CREATING EVERYTHING
FOR
GOD TO CREATE EVERYTHING
IS REALLY NOTHING
BUT
IF YOU BELIEVE NOTHING CREATED EVERYTHING
YOU
ARE REALLY SOMETHING
It should be pointed out that evolution is anything but an exact
science. Take Mr. Evolution himself, Darwin. In Robert E. Kofahl's
book, Handy Dandy Evolution Refuter, published by Beta Books, San
Diego, on pages 18 and 19, he says of Darwin, "In his book,
The Origin of Species, in Chapter 4, "Natural Selection; or
Survival of the Fittest," occupies 44 pages in the 1958 Mentor
edition. In this chapter Darwin used the language of speculation,
imagination, and assumption at least 187 times. For example, pages
118 and 119 contain the following phrases: "may have been,"
"is supposed to," "perhaps," "If we suppose,"
"may still be," "we have only to suppose," "as
I believe," "it is probable," "I have assumed,"
"are supposed," "will generally tend," "may,"
"will generally tend," "If," "If...assumed,"
"supposed," "supposed," "probably,"
"It seems, therefore, extremely probable," and "We
may suppose." Robert then asks, “Is this really the language
of science? No, it is not." May I add that Darwin uses the
language of speculation to prove what is scientifically impossible.
(See Atheists)
If I sold cars and used the same language to describe their reliability,
my customers would be justified in "running" the opposite
direction. Not only that, I would probably be in violation of some
sort of consumer protection act. The American people have been defrauded
at the hands of the Atheists, Humanists, A.C.L.U. and the Supreme
Court. I like to call them Constitutional perverts. It's too bad
we don't have a "Ralph Nader" protecting the Judaeo-Christian
heritage of this nation. The problem is that the deistic, Judaeo-Christian
benevolence, espoused by Jefferson and other like-minded men, "evolved"
into the past and present day, "worship God in the way you
choose" mentality that has and is now kicking God out of America.
If the founding fathers would have understood the nature of man
and would have known the God of the Bible, the First Amendment would
not have been so carelessly worded, and had such a drastic impact
in our day and age. I think the very fact that it is happening is
proof that this nation is turning into a "lukewarm" nation,
that will be spewed out of the mouth of God unless we get back on
the track, or at least whatever track the founding fathers were
on.
Darwin uses the language of speculation to prove what is scientifically
impossible. He deceived people that wanted to be deceived and tried
to prove that there is no God so people can feel good about their
sin. He sold them a bill of goods that allows them to hear what
they want to hear. They say you should be able live the life you
want. Similar to what the serpent told Eve in the Garden of Eden.
No matter how dark the alley, God can still see their works of evil.
We are in bondage to the politically correct crowd of dreamers.
We (God’s people) have lost our freedom of speech and religion
as it pertains to God, in our “everyday” life. We are
to hold our tongue while they say (in all their convoluted, speculative
language of shoot in the dark assumptions) that God doesn’t
exist. They get to declare their version of “truth”
every day, but the watch dogs of “Natural Selection,”
(the ACLU and the Supreme Court) make sure our declaration is held
at bay, all in the name of, “Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion,” has nothing to do with declaring the greatness
of God. Posting the Ten Commandments is not making a law to establish
a state religion. They are orders from the God of Creation. God’s
orders supersede the orders of the Supreme Court. If a stop sign
at a dangerous intersection is legal and beneficial to the safety
of mankind, then the Ten Commandments cannot be considered any less
important or illegal. They are attempting to stop us from hurting
ourselves.
I believe that evolution is more offensive than whatever “color”,
God and State or the Ten commandments could do the process of education.
The so-called great minds that have accepted evolution scoff at
the miracles in the Bible, yet accept the biggest miracle of all:
that everything came from nothing - all by itself.
The whole evolution thing is a bad joke that got pushed off on the
American people (and the rest of the world) because of the membership
of the above-mentioned institutions, and their lack of faith in
God. The fact that those types of people are coming to "power"
should tell us something about ourselves and our relationship with
God. Their superior intelligence is outlined in Acts 17:21, "For
all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time
in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing,"
and 1 Corinthians 1:18, "For the preaching of the cross is
to them that perish foolishness;..." I guess the bottom line
is if God allowed them to unload their garbage onto us, we have
the type of government we deserve. (See: The Bible and the Badge:
God and State) They are even making sure that we won’t be
able to tell anyone the truth by passing laws that say we can’t
hurt their feelings when we tell them a truth (the Biblical truth).
The rule when talking to an atheist or an agnostic should be that
you only talk at length with someone that is really searching for
an answer. Don't think for a minute you will change anyone that
is only there for an argument.
Let me say that of the two beliefs, creation is the one that takes
the least amount of faith. If you believe in evolution, you believe
in the bigger miracle, in that you say, nothing created everything,
or even worse, the stuff evolution is made of, was "just there”
and "things" started happening. Why couldn't God have
"just" been there? If this above argument was all that
the creationist had, it would be good enough for me, but it isn't.
The Bible tells us where God came from, who He is, and what His
plan for the world is. The Bible has been proven to be scientifically,
historically, and archaeologically accurate. There are many proofs
in the form of books and other publications, but the humanistic
world would just as soon remain silent on them because they can't
stand up in the world of competition and "truth". (See:
Summary of Discoveries)
If nothing (in outer space) is a normal state of affairs, gasses,
planets, rocks etc., are all abnormal to the vacuum of outer space.
If the universe is expanding, from where or what did it expand?
How big was, whatever it was, when it started to expand? No matter
how big it was, where did it come from in the first place? Furthermore,
if whatever it was, no matter how big it was, was just always there,
what caused it to start expanding? If I am correct, and there is
only one universe, why? If one universe could exist in all of outer
space (all on its own), then why not two or more? After all, outer
space (theoretically) goes on forever. See: Relativity.
I say that the universe (all one of it) was the physical declaration,
as a result of the realization of who and just how great, God is.
The big bang was nothing less than a shout of declaration of the
greatness of God. “The heavens declare the glory of God; and
the firmament sheweth his handywork.” Ps 19:1. Who was responsible
for this shout? I believe it was no one less than the first of God’s
creation, the pre-incarnate Jesus. See: Psalms 2:7, 8:5-6, 89:27:
Proverbs 8:22 (-31), 30:4; Isaiah 45:11-23; Mica 5:2; John 1:9-14,
5:26, 8:42, 17:5, 24-28; Acts 13:33; Colossians 1:15(-19); Hebrews
1:5-6(-14), 5:5; Revelation 1:8, 3:14, 21:6, 22:13.
How would finding life on other planets disprove the existence of
God? It seems to be what science is looking for - to prove that
God does not exist. If God could create life on this planet - why
not the rest of His created universe? They even tried to say a rock
from Mars that crashed into the earth, had residue of life in it
(as if the residue could not have come from the many years of laying
around this planet). Not to mention the lack of heat entry marks
on the rock. And if it was part of a bigger rock that broke up when
it hit - where is the rest of it and signs of life clinging to them?
Nature itself should tell you that evolution goes against natural
order. Everything deteriorates. You build a building and let it
sit; it falls apart. You build a road and let it alone; it falls
apart. You build a pier at the ocean and leave it alone; it falls
apart. Rocks break down. Mountains crumble and go into the sea.
Fields of grass get washouts and do the same. Trees grow and die.
Man left to his own devices becomes corrupt and vile and in some
cases self-destructs. God is what holds it all together. The better
we are, the better He holds it together.
If evolution were true everything should get better. From slime
to monkeys to man. Why is it that the more we supposedly evolve
the worse off the world becomes? By the time we hit the “man
stage” you’d think we’d be less destructive to
not only the world but also mankind itself. If we evolved from slime
to man, in an obvious spirit of developmental cooperation, why would
we be so war-like now? If in fact, confrontational evolution (survival
of the species) is true, then war is not bad, but necessary for
the proper development of mankind into whatever/wherever, it is
headed. There is no right or wrong. There is only survival and further
development. The fact that we have emotions and feelings has no
bearing on who we are or where we are going. Evolution can have
no feeling, no compassion, no love, and no hate - just mindless
indifference. How could something so mindless develop into such
a sophisticated state of ability as we have? From slime to the moon
with no supernatural help? I don’t think so. The fact that
God made us out of the dust of the earth, which seems to aid Darwin,
should be considered part of the Conspiracy. The truth of the Word
just seems to fall into Darwin’s hands to be used the way
he wants.
I heard someone on TV say that the rhino has not changed in about
60 million years. What would stop its evolution? Is it something
that the rhino thought to do by its self? Was there a committee
of rhinos that agreed to stop further development? There are a lot
of different species that this would apply to also. Why would they
start evolving and then stop? It takes us back to the question:
Which was first, the chicken or the egg? The complicated existence
of the honeybee is also another hard thing to explain or should
I say, explain away. Those of the “dark side” just keep
pecking away at the truth, common sense and the existence of God.
A word of advice to anyone that thinks evolution is fact. Get ready
for a stormy and cursed life. Making the statement: there is no
God, is a ticket to oblivion. People that know “there must
be something,” but don’t want to subscribe to the God
of the Bible will gladly accept and believe in the “force.”
Is this a capital “F” or a small “f”? Does
this “force” have a will, thoughts, feelings, fears,
hates, likes, dislikes or a plan? Does it care about all the injustice
and wrong that is in the world today? Are we, our brother’s
keeper with this entity, as we are with the God of the Bible? For
those that wonder why the God of the Bible sits back while evil
rules the world, try reading the Bible and see. In a nutshell -
we have reaped what we have sown. We are the ones to blame for His
apparent silence. It is called judgment. That includes wars, disease,
famines, pestilence, earthquakes and bad government.
The invention of evolution could very well be a judgment of God,
on all people. It is not only directed to the unsaved but the saved
also. It is laid on the unsaved because they will accept something
as off-the-wall as evolution is, because they are looking for a
reason to not believe in Him, or are looking for a god they “can
worship in the way they choose.” It is an offense to the saved
because they are accepting and introducing many things into the
church that has no business being there, and many of those things
are offensive to God. A lot of people have been turned away from
the LORD as a result of evolution being taught in the school system.
As bad as this is, there are other contributing problems. The most
important one is the home. In most homes God is not really honored,
either in word or deed. Most people calling themselves Christians
probably have never read the entire Bible and of the ones that have,
most have probably not repeated it.
Second to the home is the church. In a lot of churches, evolution
is as big of no-no as sex education, which should be taught in the
home, but most often is not. If our faith is grounded in God and
His Word, nothing can be a threat to us; no matter what "new
thing" may try to rob us of our faith.
Darkness will prevail when the light is withheld, which is exactly
what is happening because of the fear mongers invoking "church
and state". If we need to be protected from church and state,
we better make sure we are not trying to evade God and state. Who
will protect us from the judgment that will come as a result of
ignoring God and His rules? Just because a certain segment of society
doesn't recognize the existence of God; they shouldn't be allowed
to use the Constitution as a means of barring God from the position
that the founding fathers knew he held. (See: Declaration of Independence)
As I have said for many years, separation of church and state is
essential; separation of God and state is impossibility. (See: God
and State) Psalms 100:3: Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is
he that hath made us, and not we ourselves…
I think DNA could settle the whole argument. In 1 Cor. 15:39, when
Paul says, “All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is
one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes,
and another of birds.” Would not DNA prove this out? That
should prove once and for all man could not have come from apes.
In terms of Creation vs. Evolution, when we have a doubt about God
being the creator or even doubt the existence of God, we must learn
to doubt that doubt. For everything to have evolved by itself is
a bigger miracle (or should I say impossibility) than for God to
have created it. The plants and the bee are a prime example of this
learning to doubt your doubt. How each could have evolved independent
of each other defies logic. If you are going to believe in something
hard to believe in, it just as well be the most logical thing to
believe in. You can’t get something from nothing. If you do,
it is a miracle. Miracles can’t happen by themselves. They
have to be given. In the case of creation, life, earth, space and
all the rest - it is GOD.
Concerning Evolution and the Constitution
The only reason the God of creation wasn’t mentioned in the
Constitution, as He was in the Declaration of Independence is because
of the political wrangling that went into the final draft of the
Constitution. The people writing the Declaration and the Constitution
had a belief in a Supreme Being and that Being is the one that gives
rights and moreover the Bible teaches, it is that Being, that can
remove them also, although the framers of the two documents seem
to only point out one side of the matter in good old modern liberal
fashion.
Anybody believing in evolution, (according to their own admission)
is nothing but evolved pond scum. Is pond scum under Constitutional
Protection or survival of the fittest? When “survival of the
fittest” clashes with the Ten Commandments, there will be
trouble. Evolution can have no morals. It believes in no Gods -
big “G” or little “g.” Not to get off the
subject, but I wonder how many of the adherents to evolution celebrate
Christmas or the winter solstice, which really makes them worse
than hypocrites. Hypocrites believe in something and don’t
follow it while evolutionists believe in “nothing” and
yet join in on the fun of a Pagan/Christian and materialistic holiday
- but that’s another story. See: Christmas, Passover/Easter
and Halloween.
Some members of society are acting like they live under the rules
of survival of the fittest and have even developed organizations
like the A.C.L.U. to make sure that “survival of the fittest”
is on an even keel with people acknowledging a Creator. This, (A.C.L.U.
defense) then becomes the rotten apple in a barrel scenario. Actually,
I give them too much credit. Slime is not capable of setting up
any kind of (and I use the term loosely) intellectual defense. Remember,
evolution is dog eat dog. People calling themselves evolutionists
or atheists are really just people in rebellion to God and are striking
out against Him or His people. Their version of free speech - and
if not theirs personally - is that everyone can say whatever they
want, no matter how vulgar, because it is their Constitutional right
to do so. Let’s not forget that the Declaration nor the Constitution
applies to pond scum, no matter what form it developed into over
who knows how many years.
The Ten Commandments should be posted in public schools if evolution
is taught, because if the Ten Commandments are bad, then the moral
nothingness of evolution is also bad, and moreover, I believe moral
nothingness spawns school shootings and other abominable acts, which
just happens to be the opposite of “Thou shalt not kill,”
and “Love Thy Neighbor,” etc. With “survival of
the fittest” there can be no civilization, only chaos, which
is what is showing up in the classroom now.
Moral nothingness is a law unto itself, which is worse than the
law of religion and what past problems it (man made and even God’s
version) brought to the world. Nothingness explodes in all directions,
offending all; whereas religions practice prejudice in a certain
direction, which offends some. Therefore, to throw the Ten Commandments
and God out of our schools is worse than throwing out evolution,
which by its very nature teaches dog eat dog. So when a dog carries
a machine gun into school, we have reaped what we have sown. If
we who are offended by dog eat dog, let the “system”
keep teaching dog eat dog, then we have no one to blame but ourselves.
Concerning the school system; I don’t advocate civil war and
the shedding of blood, but if blood is going to be shed, let it
be the blood of those doing “dog eat dog” or at least
those allowing dog eat dog, rather than the blood of the kids going
to school to get an education. This of course, is not the answer
either, because after the blood shed of the dog eat dog advocates,
a new set of tyranny’s can rear its ugly head - in that, not
all people see God and His laws in the same light. Some would post
the Commandments in school while others would enforce them with
their own prejudice. Even at that, there are those who would still
rebel against God even if He were behind the overthrow of the dog
eat dog crowd.
Evolution can have no morals that could even demand or expect to
live up to the morals of the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments
are a good idea for any person of any religion. If religion is to
be avoided then so should evolution. If church and state is a bad
idea, so is “survival of the fittest” and state.
Concerning Evolution and UFO’s
If UFOs are a reality, I wonder how many other people than me on
this planet are offended by the failure of UFOs to make credible
contact? If there are UFOs coming in and out of our planet, why
don’t they stop and give some guidance? Have we been set here
as some kind of experiment? If so, why don’t we get as mad
at them as we do God, for not doing anything about all the suffering?
Why don’t we get mad at them for playing God, if you will,
and not stopping all the killing and other madness that is happening
on the earth? Why do we seem to revere the thought of earthly visitors
and not hold a grudge against them for not making themselves known?
Why are we not more tolerant towards God and give Him the same credit
for His absence, as we seem to, the beings in UFOs? Is there a reason
that He (God) stays away? Is there a reason that we have bad government?
The Bible is silent on (what we call) modern day UFOs. But on the
other hand it says quite a bit about the reasons that God would
avoid contact with His people.
Abortion and UFOs are just two of the many ways that “little
man” can shake his fist in the face of God. Insurance is another;
science is another.
Addendum:
The only thing the Ten Commandments are guilty of, is stepping on
the toes of lawyers that pervert the interpretation of the Bill
of Rights.
They want to sin, steal, rob, and plunder without any interference,
forgetting that God, not Santa, has a list; He, not Santa, is checking
it twice; He, not Santa, is seeing who’s naughty and nice;
He, not Santa, is judging now and in the future. So be good for
YOUR sake.
The movie about the Scopes Monkey Trial with Spencer Tracy did not
allow the best representative to be questioned about the truth of
the Bible. The person should have been someone who believed in the
gap theory.
Concerning: where did Cain’s wife come from? In the process
of time… Gen. 4:3. She could have been a sister.
This is all a vapor that will disappear someday. The reason all
the answers aren’t in the Bible or there are questions of
the Bible’s integrity is, for the same reason that Jesus gave
his followers a hard saying in reference to drinking His blood and
eating His body. All but the disciples turned away and when Jesus
asked why the remainder hadn’t left also, they told Him there
was no one else who had the words to life.
If there is no God, what is the purpose to life? To be born, live
and die? Why are some happy and some sad, even unto suicide?
This is all part of God’s Conspiracy of Judgment.
Was Jonah dead in the fish? In the movie of the scopes trial Tracy
was asking if (Bryant) he believed in that story. Most everyone
thinks Jonah was alive in the fish. If you read Jonah, the language
seems to indicate that he died in the fish or was dead in the ocean
before the fish swallowed him.
Let’s say theistic evolution is true. How does it change anything
else? Whether God created everything using a combination of Divine
creation (something from nothing) or creation and time, doesn’t
change who He is. It doesn’t change the fact that He is omnipotent,
omnipresent and has complete omniscience. With all that, does He
not have a will concerning right and wrong? It doesn’t make
“survival of the fittest” the way it should be. It makes
the golden rule and civilization the goal. It seems that the more
time marches on, the more in reverse we are going. But it’s
happened before - then came the flood and then came Sodom and Gomorrah.
Evolutionarily speaking: The abuse of alcohol and drugs should be
allowed to destroy itself. Let the ravages be the teacher and the
example to others. Simply teach them why this is happening; it is
an act of God’s judgment.
Evolutionarily speaking, homosexuality is a step backwards, or worse
yet, it is a step towards oblivion. For those that are promoting
homosexuality as normal - it makes as much sense as those promoting
evolution as fact. The “experts” say, at some point,
elephants decided to grow longer trunks. If that was true of a “dumb”
animal, why wouldn’t all women have large breasts and all
men be better endowed? (If you know what I mean).
If evolution was true why are deer still so stupid when it comes
to crossing highways?
God raised up evolution to be as offensive to us as our doctrine
of the eternal pre-incarnate Christ is to God. Rev.3: 14, says that
Jesus was the first of God’s creation. If Jesus “was
just there,” so could have been the gasses, rocks etc. that
turned into all that we have in existence today.
With evolution, there most certainly is no such thing as “inalienable
rights” because survival of the fittest favors the strongest
- right or wrong, good or bad.
Defending The Bible
When considering the criticisms leveled against the Bible - we have
to “trust between the lines.” Jesus taught in parables
and even if some of the standard Bible stories of miracles are parables,
they are there to teach us a lesson of some type. I personally can
believe any of them as truth and fact, because I can’t think
of anything harder to do than create everything from nothing. If
God can do that, why not something like the sun standing still.
If the person that can put the universe in motion in the first place,
He should have no problem stopping it in the second place. Our bodies
are pretty much a miracle in their own right, not to mention the
fact that it is God that gives us every heart beat and every breath
we breathe. With Him, just where do the miracles start and stop?
Wm. Pettingill, in his revised edition of Bible Questions Answered,
states: “Let us remember that the account of Genesis is only
an outline and that also the geological record is very fragmentary…
Scientists constantly ask us to have faith where absolute proof
is not forth coming. God also requires the same thing, but at the
same time He gives such strong evidence of the truth of His Word
that faith itself is built upon certainty.”
Concerning the question: Isn’t the Bible full of myths? Several
come to mind. The creation story and who Cain happened to marry,
Noah’s ark, the ten plagues in Egypt, the parting of the red
sea, the walls of Jericho falling down, the sun standing still and
Jonah and the great fish. As mentioned above, if He could create
everything from nothing, what is the problem with Him doing any
of the miracles mentioned anywhere in the Bible? Let’s give
God a little slack because we sure give it to atheistic scientists
that dream up this garbage and the educators that shove it down
the throats of our kids - especially in college.
In college the student is fed a steady diet of required reading
that includes some famous people that we were taught to revere as
American heroes:
Thomas Jefferson - “And the day will come, when the mystical
generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as His Father, in the
womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation
of Minervia in the brain of Jupiter”.
Now
I know why the “Christian most” copy of the Constitution
was put on the back shelf in the National Archives.
Thomas Edison - “All Bibles are man-made.”
Dr. Arroway in Carl Sagan’s Contact - “…if God
wanted to send us a message, and ancient writings were the only
way he could think of doing it, he could have done a better job.”
This
is from a person that thinks there is intelligent life in outer
space; who refuse to make contact with us, but continually strafe
our planet in vehicles known as UFO’s. He has a great tolerance
for that which doesn’t exist, but no tolerance for the God
of Creation, that does exist.
Mark Twain - “The Bible is a mass of fables and traditions,
mere mythology…”
Judith Hayes, In God We Trust: But Which One? - “The biblical
account of Noah’s Ark and the Flood is perhaps the most implausible
for fundamentalists to defend. Where, for example, while loading
his ark, did Noah find penguins and polar bears in Palestine?”
In the Jerusalem Zoo, where else? You have to remember, we are dealing
with the God of miracles, the God of late creations or resurrection
if they all happened to die.
Thomas Huxley - “The account of the creation of Eve is a preposterous
fable.”
So is life emerging out of a pool of slime.
Bertrand Russell - “There is something feeble and a little
contemptible about a man who cannot face the perils of life without
the help of comfortable myths… …Moreover, since he is
aware, however dimly, that his opinions are not real, he becomes
furious when they are disputed.”
Rupert Hughes - “According to the Bible, God was ignorant,
a ruthless liar and cheat; he broke his pledges, changes his mind
so often that he grew weary of repenting. He was a murderer of children,
ordered his people to slay, rape, steal, and lie and commit every
foul and filthy abomination in human power. In fact, the more I
read the Bible the less I find in it that is either credible or
admirable.”
Like so many things said by pagans, there is some truth to what
he says. But more often than not - there is a lot of fiction.”
God is not ignorant. He is not a ruthless liar and cheat and the
only pledges He ever broke, were broken by the party He made the
pledge with in the first place. He, in point of fact has ordered
his people and heathen nations as well, to slay men, women, children
and all the animals. Notice how he (Hughes) says, children - just
to enflame the populous against God. I don’t ever remember
Him telling anyone to rape anyone else. He has in some cases told
them (his people and not) to plunder (steal). If God kills you,
He has a good reason. When the archaeological digger turns over
a spade of soil and finds the remainder of that destroyed society
(men, women and children) that the Bible says God killed, it makes
the Bible very credible. You can admire whom you wish.
Steve Allen - “There is not the slightest question but that
the God of the Old Testament is a jealous, vengeful God, inflicting
not only on the sinful “pagans” but even on his Chosen
People fire, lightening, hideous plagues and diseases, brimstone,
and other curses.”
Why, because He is a big bully? No, because that’s the way
he deals with all un-repented sin.
Stephan Ban - Citing the Bible as evidence for anything is like
saying that the sun is in fact a chariot of fire that races across
the sky because we read about it in Greek mythology.
God hangs the earth on nothing, the stars are without number, the
earth is round, water is in the clouds and the water distills upon
man and pours the waters out of the sea upon the earth, etc.
Friedrich Nietzsche - One does well to put on gloves when reading
the New Testament. The proximity of so much uncleanliness almost
forces one to do this.
What can I say? He’s the one that said, “God is dead.”
Mark Twain - It ain’t the parts of the Bible that I can’t
understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand.
Only someone that doesn’t know God could utter this.
The late Howard C. Estep passes along some good advice concerning
The Rule of Interpretation: Take the Bible literally wherever it
is possible; if symbolic, figurative, or typical language is used,
then look for the literal truth it intends to convey.
Ever thought about the absurdity of people that believe in evolution
and demand welfare for themselves or others?

SUMMERY OF DISCOVERIES:
There are many archaeological, scientific and historic proofs the
Bible is true. We don’t hear much about them in the world
of modern education because proving that there is a God which rules
in the heavens puts a wet blanket on their version of, “where
we came from,” and “where we are going.” Think
of all the money that could be saved if we just took creation at
face value. How many people could be fed and clothed with all the
money spent on space research, listening to radio waves and all
the rest? Moreover, reaching our nearest star, (excluding the sun)
at present technology, would take a rocket ship going 25,000 MPH
almost 115,000 years to reach it. Quadruple the speed and it would
still take over 28,000 years to reach it. If my calculations were
correct, even going the speed of light would take over 1500 years
to arrive.
After spending all that time and money getting there; whatever form
of life they found there would probably be having wars, disease
and all the rest of the things they tried to escape here on earth.
We need to look through outer space to the third heaven and the
God that resides there, if we are ever to have peace and contentment.
The answer is not in the stars, because the problem is in our hearts.
The round earth of Job 22:14, 26:10 and Isaiah 40:22, are three
of the most dramatic. "It is He that sitteth on the circle
of the earth,"... Isa. 40:22 (KJV) and, ”He walks on
the vault (circuit) of heaven,” and “He has inscribed
a circle on the surface of the waters”…(NAS). Eccl 1:6,
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north;
it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according
to his circuits. The winds around the earth fit this pattern of
roundness. Whoever wrote this was in tune with Isaiah and Job.
Isaiah took place around 712 B.C., and as late as 1492 knowledgeable
people thought the earth was flat. How did Isaiah, and Job, know
the earth was round? Job was here around 1500 years B.C. How did
Job know that the earth hung on nothing? How did he know the clouds
held water in great abundance? How did he know about the distillation
process that gets the rain to the earth? How did Amos know that
the water that falls upon the earth comes out of the ocean? How
did Jeremiah know that the stars were without number? The men of
knowledge from his day until 1609 thought that there were somewhere
between 1026 to 1056 stars. In 1610 Galileo using a newly invented
item called a telescope, set the scientific world reeling. It is
estimated that there are 100 billion stars in our galaxy alone.
Who was right?
These above mentioned men were given this information through the
Holy Spirit of God. If they were correct concerning these things
(it took us hundreds or even thousands of years to find out) I think
we can take it by faith that the rest of what they said can be believed
also. If they said, "thus saith the Lord," who are we
to doubt it? Please read the following scriptures. The first six
items on this page are very clearly understood to those of us today.
When they were written, it was not understood and people of that
day must have thought that somebody, no doubt, was a brick short
of a full load.
THE EARTH HANGS ON NOTHING. Job 26:7
THE WATER IS IN THE CLOUDS. Job 26:8
THE WATER DISTILLS UPON MAN. Job 36:27-28
THE EARTH IS ROUND. Job 22:14, 26:10, Isa. 40:22
STARS WITHOUT NUMBER Jer. 33:19-22
POURS THE WATERS OUT OF THE SEA ON THE EARTH Amos 5:8
The Bible also teaches that the universe is closed. Not too long
ago there was much debate on this subject. Space seems to go on
forever and with the advent of the telescope it seemed to back up
that point of view. See: Relativity and the Circuit of Heaven.
The following information comes from Halley's Bible Handbook, i.e.
Summary of Archaeological Discoveries.
WRITING: Modern criticism developed the theory that writing was
unknown in the days of Moses, and that the early Old Testament books
could not have been written till long after the events they record,
and that they must embody only legends that had been handed down
by oral tradition. This clever theory, widely accepted in certain
circles, has been one of the most insidious onslaughts ever made
on the Historical Reliability of the Bible. But now, thanks be to
God, within the past century, hundreds of thousands of books, written
on clay and stone tablets, antedating Moses by centuries and even
millenniums, have been uncovered by the spade of the archaeologist,
showing that even the very earliest of Biblical events could have
been recorded by contemporary writers. See pages 42-57.
Pre-Flood Writings have been found in the ruins of Ur, Kish and
Fara. (See page 44.)
Vast Pre-Abrahamic Libraries have been in the ruins of Ur, Nippur,
Lagash and Sippar. (See pages 46-49.)
The Oldest Known "Historical Document" (record of a contemporaneous
event), written soon after the Flood, was found (1923), by Wooley,
at Obeid, near Ur. (See page 46.)
The Weld Dynastic Prism, the oldest known outline of world history,
written 100 years before Abraham, was found (1922), at Larsa, by
the Weld-Blundell Expedition. (See page 49.)
Accad, one of Nimrod's cities (Genesis 10:10), was also called "Sippar,"
which means "Book Town," indicating that it was known
as a famous library center. (See page 48.)
Hammurabi's Code of Laws, carved in Abraham's day, on a great block
of stone, and set up originally in Babylon, was found (1902), in
Susa, by a French expedition. (See pages 50-51.)
A School Room, of Abraham's day, in Ur, with quantities of exercise
tablets in mathematics, grammar, history and medicine, possibly
the very school that Abraham attended, has been uncovered. (See
pages 50-51.)
Note that the places mentioned, where these primeval writings were
found, Ur, Kish, Fara, Nippur, Lagash, Sippar, Larsa, Accad, and
Susa, were all in the Garden of Eden region. (See pages 64-65)
In Egypt thousand of inscriptions have been found antedating Moses
by a thousand years. (See pages 52-53.)
The Tell-el-Amarna Tablets, 400 of them, letters written about the
time of Moses, by various kings in Palestine and Syria, to the Pharaohs
of Egypt, were found (1888). (See page 53.)
Alphabetic Writing, made about 800 B.C., 400 years before Moses,
was found (1905), by Petrie, at Serabit in Sinai. (See page 54.)
Alphabetic Writings in Palestine, of the period between Abraham
and Moses have been found in the ruins of Shechem, Gezer, Beth-Shemesh,
Lachish, and Hittite cities north of Palestine. (See pages 54-55.)
The Name "Kiriath-sepher," a city near Hebron, means "scribe
town," indicating that it was a library center. (See page 51.)
The Behistun Rock, key to the ancient Babylonian language, was discovered
(1835), by Sir Henry Rawlinson. (See page 43.)
The Rosetta Stone, key to the ancient Egyptian language, was discovered
(1799), by Boussard. (see page 52.)
Thus
while learned men were loudly proclaiming that there was no such
thing as WRITING till long after the days of Moses, God, in his
Providence, used the spade of the archaeologist to bring to light
hundreds of thousands of books that were written long before the
days of Moses. And not only so, but these same books, in many things,
confirm Biblical records.
Creation, (Genesis 1) Babylon Creation Stories, quite similar to
the Genesis account, have been found on primitive tablets in the
ruins of Babylon, Nippur, Ashur, and Nineveh, showing that the Genesis
ideas had become quite deeply fixed in the thought of the earliest
inhabitants. (See page 62.)
Original Monotheism (Genesis 1). The Genesis idea that man started
with a belief in one God, and that polytheistic idolatry was a later
development, has been verified in inscriptions found by Langdon,
in Pre-Flood layers, at Jemdet Nasr, near Babylon. In Egypt, Petrie
found indications that Egypt's first religion was monotheistic.
(See page 62.)
Bricks with and without straw (Exodus 1:11; 5:7-19). Naville (1883),
and Kyle (1908), found at Pithom, the lower courses of brick filled
with good chopped straw, the middle course with less straw, and
the upper course with no straw whatever. What an amazing confirmation
of Exodus 5:7-19. (See page 120.)
Rahab's House on the Wall (Joshua 2:15). Garstang found in Jericho
the ruins of double walls, 15 feet apart, linked together by houses
built across the top, showing that there were houses built "on
the wall." (See Page 159.)
Jericho's Wall "Fell Down Flat" (Joshua 6:20). Garstang
found evidence that Jericho was destroyed about 1400 B.C., Joshua's
date; and that the walls had fallen flat, outward, down the hillside.
Joshua "burnt the city with fire" (Joshua 6:24). Garstang
found the layer of ashes left by Joshua's fire. Israel was commanded
to "keep themselves from the devoted thing" (Joshua 6:18).
Garstang found underneath the layer of ashes an abundance of foodstuffs,
wheat, barley, dates and such, turned into charcoal, evidence that
the conquerors did refrain from appropriating the food. (See page
159.)
Ai and Bethel Destroyed (Joshua 8:1-29). Albright found in the Bethel
mound, and Garstang in the Ai mound, evidences that they had been
destroyed by fire at a time coinciding with Joshua's time. (See
page 161.)
Lachish (Joshua 10:32), is named among the cities Joshua destroyed.
The Wellcome Archaeological Expedition found (1934-), a great layer
of ashes left by fire of Joshua's time. (See page 163.)
Debir (Joshua 10:39), is also named among the cities Joshua destroyed.
Here an expedition of Xenia Seminary and the American School at
Jerusalem found a deep layer of ashes and charcoal with evidence
that the fire was of Joshua's time. (See page 156.)
Hazor (Joshua 11:10-11), too, is named among the cities Joshua burned.
Garstang found the ashes of this fire, with pottery evidences that
it had occurred in Joshua's time. Also, an Amarna tablet written
to Pharaoh (1380 B.C.) from north Palestine says, "Let my lord
recall what Hazor and its king have already had to endure."
(See page 164.)
Destruction of the Canaanites (Deuteronomy 7:2; 20:17). God commanded
Israel to utterly destroy the Canaanites. Excavations in the ruins
of Gezer, Kiriath-sepher, and other Canaanite cities, showing the
shameful and loathsome degradation of the Canaanite religion and
civilization, have caused archaeologists to wonder why God did not
destroy them sooner than he did. (See page 166.)
Deborah's Victory over the Canaanites (Judges 4:23,24; 5:19) at
Megiddo. In 1937 the Oriental Institute found in the ruins of Megiddo
in the stratum belonging to the 12th century B.C., indications of
a tremendous conflagration on top of the layer of Canaanite relics,
evidence of a terrific defeat for the Canaanites at that time which
was in the time of Deborah and Barak. (See page 172.)
Hidden Grain Pits in Time of Gideon (Judges 6:2-4,11). Some of these
grain pits were found (1926-28) at Kiriath-sepher by Albright and
Kyle. (See page 172.)
The Watercourse (2 Samuel 5:8) by which David's men gained entrance
to Jerusalem. This tunnel, cut through solid rock, was discovered
(1866) by Warren of the Palestine Exploration Fund. (See page 215.)
Solomon’s Gold (1 Kings 14:25-26), which Shishak took away.
Shishak's mummy was found (1939) in a gold covered sarcophagus,
possibly some of the same gold he had taken from Solomon. (See page
192.)
Solomon’s Stables. His horses are mentioned in 1 Kings 9:19
and 10:26-29. Megiddo is named as one of Solomon’s (1 Kings
9:15). In Megiddo, the Oriental Institute has uncovered the ruins
of Solomon’s stables with their stone hitching-poles and mangers.
Nearby was a foundation stone of a house occupied by one of Solomon’s
army officers inscribed "Shield of David." (See page 191.
Solomon’s Navy at Ezion-geber (1 Kings 9:26). Glueck (1938-39)
identified the ruins of Ezion-geber and found smelters, furnaces,
cruicibles and refineries of Solomon’s time where iron and
copper were manufactured into metal products that were exported
to India, Arabia and Africa in exchange for gold and ivory. (see
page 192.)
Solomon’s Building Stones (1 Kings 7:9-12). Many of these
enormous stones are still in place. In 1852 Barkley discovered the
quarry from which they came. (See page 192.)
Omri built Samaria (1 Kings 16:24). A Harvard University Expedition
has uncovered the ruins of Omri's palace in Samaria with no relics
older than the time of Omri, evidence that he was the founder of
the city. (See page 197.)
Elijah and the Prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:40). In the ruins of
Megiddo, the Oriental Institute found in the same stratum of Elijah's
time, many jars containing the remains of infants who had been slain
in sacrifice to Baal. Prophets of Baal were official legalized murderers
of little children. (Kind of like doctors doing abortions today.)
This helps us to understand why Elijah slew these prophets. (And
see where we are going today, and what our end will be.) (See page
198.)
Ahab's House of Ivory (1 Kings 22:39). A Harvard University Expedition
found in Samaria the ruins of this "ivory" palace with
thousands of pieces of the most exquisitely carved ivory, just above
Omri's palace. (See page 199.)
Moab's Rebellion Against Israel (2 Kings 3:4-5). The Moabite king's
own account of this rebellion was found (1868) at Dibon, in Moab.
It's called the "Moabite Stone." (See pages 201-02.)
Hazael's Succession to Benhadad's Throne (2 Kings 8:15). An Assyrian
inscription tells the same thing. (See page 203.)
Jehu's Tribute to Assyria (2 Kings 10:32-34). Additional information
is supplied by the "Black Obelisk." It depicts Jehu paying
tribute to the Assyrian king. (See page 205.)
Jezebel "Painted Her Eyes" (2 Kings 9:30). The actual
saucers in which Jezebel mixed her cosmetics have been found in
Samaria in the ruins of Ahab's "ivory house" - small stone
boxes, with a number of holes for various colors...with a central
depression for mixing; they still had traces of red. (See page 206.)
A seal of Jeroboam's Servant (2 Kings 14:23-29) has been found in
the ruins of Meggido inscribed, "Belonging to Shema the servant
of Jeroboam." (See page 207.)
Menahem Paid Tribute to Pul, king of Assyria (2 Kings 15:19-20).
One of Pul's inscriptions says, "Tribute of Menahem of Samaria,
Rezin of Damascus, Hiram of Tyre, I received." (See page 208.)
Uzziah, Ahaz, Menahem, Pekah, Hoshea. These five Hebrew kings are
named in the inscriptions of Pul, king of Assyria. (See page 208.)
North Israel was carried away Captive (2 Kings 15:29), by Tiglath-pileser.
Tiglath-pileser's own inscription says, "The people of the
land of Omri I deported to Assyria." (See page 208.)
Hoshea slew Pekah, and reigned in his stead, and paid tribute to
the king of Assyria (2 Kings 15:30; 17:3). An inscription of Tiglath-pileser
says, "Peka their king they had overthrown. I placed Hoshea
over them. From him I received 10 talents of gold and 1000 talents
of silver." (See page 208.)
Captivity of Israel. In 2 Kings 17:5-6,24 it is said: "The
king of Assyria besieged Samaria 3 years... and took it... and carried
it away... and brought men from Babylon... and placed them in the
cities of Samaria. I took captive 27,290 people. People of other
lands, who never paid tribute, I settled in Samaria." (See
page 208.)
Jehoiachin, king of Judah (597 B.C., 2 Kings 24:6-17). Two impressions
of his servant's seal have been found, one at Kiriath-sepher, the
other at Beth-shemesh. (See page 228.)
Jehoiachin "Lifted Up," and "Given Allowance"
(2 Kings 25:27,30). Tablets have been found in the ruins of the
hanging gardens of Babylon listing the names of those to whom regular
allotments of grain and oil were made, among them "Jehoiachin
king of the land of Judah." (See page 228.)
Nebuchadnezzar's burning of the cities of Judah (2 Kings 25:9; Jeremiah
34:7). In four of these cities the ash layers of Nebuchadnezzar's
fires have been found: Lachish, Bethel, Kiriath-sepher and Beth-shemesh.
(See page 211.)
David's Wall (1 Chronicles 11:8), which he "built from Millo
round about." Remains of this wall have been uncovered for
400 feet. (See page 215.)
Shishak's invasion of Judah (2 Chronicles 12:9-10). Shishak's own
record of this invasion is inscribed on the wall of the great temple
at Karnak. It left traces in Judah. (See page 221.)
Uzziah, king of Judah (787-735 B.C., 2 Chronicles 26). His name
is mentioned four times in an inscription of Tiglath-pileser. (See
page 223.)
Uzziah's Gravestone (2 Chronicles 26:23), has been found, by Dr.
Sukenik, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. (See page 224.)
Jotham, king of Judah (749-734 B.C., 2 Chronicles 27). His Seal,
inscribed, "Belonging to Jotham," has been found in the
excavations at Ezion-geber. (See page 224.)
Ahaz, king of Judah (741-725 B.C., 2 Chronicles 28). A seal inscribed,
"Belonging to an Official of Ahaz," has been found. (See
page 224.)
Ahaz Sent Tribute to Tiglath-pileser (2 Kings 16:7-8). An inscription
of Tiglath-pileser says, "The tribute of Ahaz the Judean I
received, gold, silver, lead, tin and linen." (See page 224.)
Hezekiah's repairs in the wall of Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 32:5).
These repairs may be distinctly seen today. (See page 225.)
Hezekiah's tunnel (2 Chronicles 32:3-4). This tunnel, running 1700
feet through solid rock, has been found. (See page 225.)
The Siloam inscription, telling how Hezekiah's Tunnel was built,
was found in the tunnel's mouth. (See page 225.)
Sennacherib's invasion of Judah (2 Chronicles 32:1). Sennacherib's
own account of this invasion has been found on a clay prism, which
he himself had made. (See page 225.)
Hezekiah paid tribute to Sennacherib (2 Kings 18:14-16). One of
Sennacherib's inscriptions says, "The fear of my majesty overwhelmed
Hezekiah. He sent tribute." (See page 226.)
Sennacherib before Lachish in all his power (2 Chronicles 32:9).
On the walls of Sennacherib's palace in Nineveh was found a sculptured
relief of this encampment. (See page 226.)
Sennacherib's destruction of Lachish and Gibeah (2 Chronicles 32:9;
Isaiah 10:29). The Wellcome Archaeological Expedition found at Lachish,
and Albright at Gibeah, layers of ashes left by Sennacherib's fires.
(See page 226.)
Sennacherib's assassination by his sons, and succession by Esarhaddon
(2 Kings 19:37). An Assyrian inscription says, "Sennacherib
was killed by his sons... Esarhaddon ascended to the throne."
(See page 226.)
Manasseh, king of Judah (2 Chronicles 33) is mentioned in an inscription
of Esarhaddon as one of the "Western kings who supplied him
with building material for his palace." (See page 227.)
Zedekiah's flight "Between the Two Walls" (2 Kings 24:4).
This "way between the walls" can now be seen for 150 feet.
(See page 228.)
Esther's Palace (Esther 1:2), has been excavated. The "king's
gate" (4:2); the "inner court" (5:1); the "outer
court" (6:4); the "palace garden" (7:7); have all
been located in the ruins; and even one of the "Pur" dice
(3:7), has been found. (See page 237.)
"Sargon" (Isaiah 20:1). This is the only known mention
of Sargon's name in extant ancient literature. In 1842 Botta discovered
the ruins of his palace, with inscriptions showing him to have been
one of the greatest of Assyrian kings. (See page 287.)
Nebuchadnezzar's attack on Lachish (Jeremiah 34:7). Fragments of
21 letters, written during his siege, have been found in the ashes
of Lachish. They mentioned certain persons named in Jeremiah: Uriah,
Elnathan, Gemariah, Neriah, and others. (See page 316.)
Gedaliah, Governor of Judah (Jeremiah 40:5). His Seal, inscribed,
"Belonging to Gedaliah... who is over the house," has
been found. (See page 317.)
Jaazaniah (Jeremiah 40:8; 2 Kings 25:23). His Seal has been found,
inscribed, "Belonging to Jaazaniah servant of the king."
(See page 317.)
Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 1:1). A cameo of Nebuchadnezzar's head, carved
by his own order, has been found. (See page 340.)
Babylon (Daniel 1:1), where Daniel walked with world rulers, dream
city of ancient times, has been uncovered, and the ruins of its
grandeur lay bare. (See pages 338-340.)
Belshazzar (Daniel 5). No mention of Belshazzar was found in Babylonian
records till 1853. Since then inscriptions have been found showing
him to have been co-regent of the last king of Babylon, and throwing
light on Daniel 5. (See page 344.)
The Enrolment of Quirinius (Luke 2:2). Papyri have been found, verifying
Luke's statement that there was a "first" enrollment,
clearing what seemed like an historical discrepancy. (See page 490.)
It is my hope that Noah's Ark, the Ark of the Covenant and the Wilderness
Tabernacle will be found someday. They would be the Granddaddies
of all the archaeological finds.
It is my guess that if the evidences I've included in this publication
were taught in school along with evolution, you wouldn't run into
so many people that think evolution has some good points. (See Creation
vs. Evolution, and Atheists).
